An integrated agricultural and industrial project designed to develop sustainable, plant-derived solutions for the oil & gas, water treatment and industrial sectors across the Middle East
Investing in the UAE: A new green chemistry platform based on aloe vera for the Gulf region.
The United Arab Emirates has an opportunity to take a leading role in the development of a new generation of sustainable industrial chemistry: high-performance products derived from renewable plant resources, manufactured locally and designed to serve the strategic needs of the Gulf region.

Aloetrade America LLC, a technology company based in Miami, Florida, is promoting an integrated Aloe vera agricultural and agro-industrial project in the UAE. The initiative aims to establish a local production platform combining commercial cultivation, raw-material processing, formulation, industrial manufacturing and regional distribution of specialized aloe-based products.
This is not simply an agricultural investment. It is a proposal to develop a new industrial value chain in the UAE, transforming a renewable botanical resource into higher-value technological solutions for some of the region’s most important industries.
Why the UAE?
The Gulf Cooperation Council countries have major industrial requirements associated with oil and gas production, pipeline transportation, water management, desalination, wastewater treatment and environmental remediation.
These activities rely on specialized chemical products to control corrosion, mineral scaling, friction, fluid flow, microbial activity and other operational challenges.
Many conventional chemical solutions are based on synthetic compounds whose environmental profile, handling requirements and end-of-life characteristics are receiving increasing scrutiny.
At the same time, the UAE has been strengthening its position as a regional center for industrial investment, advanced manufacturing, logistics, technology transfer and sustainable economic development.
We believe these conditions create an attractive opportunity: establishing a UAE-based manufacturing platform capable of supplying the Gulf market with a portfolio of plant-derived industrial products, while contributing to the diversification of the country’s industrial base.
The strategic proposition is clear: manufacture in the UAE, serve the Gulf and develop a scalable green chemistry business with international reach.
An integrated agricultural and industrial platform

The initial development concept is based on approximately 50 hectares of Aloe vera cultivation, with an indicative target of around 750,000 plants and an annual supply objective of approximately 4,000 tonnes of fresh leaves.
The agricultural operation would be connected to a centralized industrial facility designed to process aloe raw material and manufacture up to 3 million liters of finished products annually at nominal capacity.
The facility would incorporate processing and stabilization equipment, formulation and blending systems, a quality-control laboratory, packaging and warehousing infrastructure, and the technical capabilities required to qualify products for industrial customers.
The objective is to capture value throughout the entire chain rather than operate as a supplier of agricultural raw material alone.
The project also offers opportunities for local employment, technical training, technology transfer, agricultural development and the creation of specialized manufacturing capabilities in the UAE.
The final agricultural and industrial locations will be selected through feasibility studies, with particular attention to water availability, irrigation efficiency, soil conditions, logistics and access to industrial customers.
Industrial applications: green chemistry for strategic sectors

The initial commercial focus will be on the oil and gas industry, where Aloetrade has developed a portfolio of aloe-based product technologies for different operational applications.
These include:
- Corrosion inhibitors: plant-derived formulations intended for selected well, pipeline and industrial applications.
- Scale inhibitors: solutions designed to help control mineral deposits in oilfield and industrial-water systems.
- Flow improvers and friction reducers: products intended to improve the transportation of crude oil, refined products and gas.
- Biocide-related solutions: formulations for selected water and oilfield applications, subject to efficacy and regulatory validation.
- Hydraulic fracturing and production chemicals: specialized products for selected fluid-management and well-service applications.
- Water and wastewater treatment: plant-derived coagulant, flocculant and remediation solutions for selected industrial applications.
The platform is conceived as a flexible manufacturing operation. Its portfolio can be developed progressively, prioritizing products with the strongest technical evidence, customer demand and commercial potential.
This approach is particularly relevant for the Gulf, where oil and gas operators, industrial facilities and water-management companies require reliable chemical solutions adapted to demanding operating environments.
The ambition is not to replace every conventional chemical product. It is to introduce technically competitive alternatives in applications where plant-derived chemistry can offer a meaningful combination of operational performance, environmental advantages and supply-chain diversification.
All environmental and performance claims will be supported by appropriate testing, customer qualification and regulatory review.
Sustainability and alignment with the UAE’s industrial future

One of the project’s defining characteristics is its commitment to green chemistry and the industrial use of renewable botanical resources.
Aloe vera provides a versatile source of natural polysaccharides and other plant-derived compounds that can be processed and formulated for specialized industrial applications.
The proposed manufacturing model seeks to reduce dependence on selected conventional synthetic chemical inputs and develop products with more favorable environmental characteristics where these can be demonstrated through independent testing.
The project will place particular emphasis on:
- Renewable plant-based raw materials.
- Efficient water use and responsible agricultural practices.
- Local processing and manufacturing.
- Product development based on environmental and operational performance.
- Quality assurance, traceability and responsible industrial practices.
- Technical collaboration with UAE institutions, universities, industrial customers and research organizations.
A successful project would help demonstrate that green chemistry is not limited to consumer products or small-scale specialty applications. It can also become part of the industrial infrastructure supporting oil and gas, water treatment and other strategic sectors.
For the UAE, this represents an opportunity to develop a distinctive industrial capability while reinforcing its position as a regional platform for sustainable manufacturing and innovation.
Investment opportunity and preliminary financial outlook
The Version 4 investment model estimates an initial funding requirement of approximately USD 10.7 million, including capital expenditure, development expenditure and initial working capital.
At full installed capacity, the project is modeled to generate annual revenues of approximately USD 22.5 million, with estimated annual EBITDA of approximately USD 6.47 million after the manufacturing-license and know-how royalty.
The preliminary ten-year financial model indicates an estimated project IRR of 12.36%, based on a 12% discount rate and the assumptions defined in the investment proposal.
These figures are indicative planning estimates, not guaranteed results. They depend on successful agricultural validation, manufacturing performance, product qualification, customer acquisition, selling prices, operating costs and the timing of commercial ramp-up.

The investment concept is therefore structured around a staged development strategy. The first phase should validate land and water availability, agricultural productivity, process economics, product performance and customer demand before proceeding to full-scale construction and commercial deployment.
This approach is intended to provide investors with clearly defined development milestones and opportunities to assess project risks before committing subsequent capital.
The project is designed to capture value locally rather than sell only raw agricultural material. The proposed value chain spans cultivation, processing, formulation, laboratory quality control, packaging, distribution and exports.
