15 Questions & Answers
Aloetrade America manufactures and distributes a complete line of plant-based, biodegradable oilfield chemical solutions derived primarily from aloe vera, cactus mucilage, chitosan, yucca (cassava) extracts and other natural compounds. The portfolio covers corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, biocides, friction reducers, drag reducing agents, flow improvers, gelling agents, coagulants, flocculants, biosurfactants and enhanced oil recovery polymers.
Unlike conventional petroleum-derived or synthetic chemical additives, our products are made from renewable resources, contain no toxic heavy metals or harmful solvents, are fully biodegradable, and have been validated for use in oil and gas field conditions. They are designed to deliver equivalent or superior technical performance while significantly reducing the environmental footprint of oilfield operations — a key differentiator as operators face growing ESG obligations and regulatory scrutiny.
Our sustainable products are suitable for the full value chain of the oil and gas industry:
Upstream — production and injection wells, geological formations, hydraulic fracturing (fracking) fluids, drilling muds, and wellbore integrity applications.
Midstream — oil and gas pipelines (including sweet and sour gas lines), storage tanks, pumping stations, and transportation of heavy and light crude oils and refined products.
Downstream & Petrochemical — boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, valves, equipment, and water and wastewater treatment plants.
The products are equally applicable to conventional and unconventional (shale/tight) operations, as well as offshore installations and surface facilities.
Nocorgreen™ is our flagship line of eco-friendly corrosion inhibitors formulated from natural plant polysaccharides and anthraquinones derived from Aloe barbadensis miller and Aloe chinensis. The active molecules form a protective molecular film on metal surfaces, blocking the electrochemical reactions that cause corrosion — without the toxicity of amine- or imidazoline-based conventional inhibitors.
The line includes four specialized variants to cover different operational environments:
Nocorgreen Full™ — general-purpose protection for tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, valves, and surface equipment.
Nocorgreen Well™ — specially engineered for the aggressive conditions inside production and injection oil wells.
Nocorgreen Sweet™ — optimized for pipelines transporting sweet gas (low H₂S content).
Nocorgreen Sour™ — formulated to withstand the highly corrosive environment of sour gas (high H₂S) pipelines.
Stopscale™ is our green scale inhibitor, a natural product composed of chitosan, cactus mucilage, aloe barbadensis miller glycosides, and aloe chinensis polysaccharides. It prevents the precipitation and deposition of mineral scales — such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, and strontium sulfate — by inhibiting crystal nucleation and growth on metal surfaces.
Stopscale™ is effective in production and injection wells, pipes and formation pore throats, as well as in tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, surface installations, valves, and equipment exposed to produced water or injection water with high mineral content. Its plant-based formulation makes it an ideal replacement for synthetic phosphonate- or polyacrylate-based scale inhibitors in environmentally sensitive areas or wherever a biodegradable scale inhibitor is required by regulation or ESG policy.
Aloecide™ and Aloecide Plus™ are our plant-based biocide supplements for oilfield and petrochemical water treatment. They are proprietary formulations made from polysaccharides and anthraquinones extracted from Aloe barbadensis miller and Aloe ferox, combined with other natural antimicrobial compounds.
These products are designed to control and eliminate sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), acid-producing bacteria (APB), and general heterotrophic bacteria present in injection water, produced water, cooling water, and process streams — microorganisms that cause microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) and souring of reservoirs.
Aloecide Plus™ offers enhanced antimicrobial potency for high-bacterial-load applications. Both versions serve as effective, non-toxic biocide supplements that reduce reliance on glutaraldehyde, quaternary ammonium compounds, and other hazardous conventional biocides, making water disposal and produced water reuse significantly safer.
Aloefricred™ and Aloefricred Plus™ are green friction reducers made from a blend of natural cactus mucilage, yucca (cassava) extracts, and aloe vera compounds. As long-chain natural polymers, they interact with water molecules in the treatment fluid to suppress turbulent flow and reduce frictional pressure losses along tubular systems.
Applications include: reducing pump pressure requirements during hydraulic fracturing (slickwater fracking), improving fluid efficiency in well completions, minimizing frictional energy losses in pipelines, and reducing wear in small-diameter tubing systems.
Aloefricred Plus™ extends the base formulation with additional corrosion inhibition and biocide properties — making it a multifunctional green additive ideal for operators seeking to consolidate chemical treatments. Both products offer a sustainable, biodegradable alternative to synthetic polyacrylamide (PAM) friction reducers widely used in shale oil and gas operations.
Dragaloe™ is our eco-friendly drag reducing agent (DRA) for midstream pipeline applications. It is a 99.5% natural, proprietary formulation based on a blend of polysaccharides, enzymes, and amino acids obtained from aloe and other natural plants.
When injected into a flowing pipeline at very low concentrations (typically a few ppm), Dragaloe™ suppresses turbulent eddies in the boundary layer, dramatically reducing frictional pressure drop and allowing operators to increase throughput, reduce pumping energy consumption, or operate at lower pump pressures — without changing infrastructure.
It is specifically designed for light crude oils, refined products (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel), and gas pipelines. As a plant-derived, biodegradable DRA, it is an environmentally responsible alternative to conventional alpha-olefin-based drag reducers — particularly valuable for offshore pipelines, environmentally sensitive corridors, and operations subject to strict discharge regulations.
Aloetitan™ and Aloetitan Hydro™ are our dual-function green inhibitors — formulated to simultaneously prevent both corrosion and mineral scale deposition in a single treatment. The base is a blend of chitosan, cactus mucilage, aloe barbadensis miller glycosides, and aloe chinensis polysaccharides.
Using a single product for both functions simplifies chemical supply chains, reduces storage requirements, lowers injection system complexity, and often delivers cost advantages compared to running parallel corrosion and scale inhibition programs.
Aloetitan Hydro™ is a specialized variant developed specifically for hydrostatic pressure testing of storage tanks, pipelines, and valves — protecting metal surfaces during extended water-fill testing periods where both corrosion and scale deposition are common concerns. It represents a green replacement for the conventional chemical packages (typically containing nitrite, molybdate, or phosphate compounds) used in hydrostatic test water.
Yes. Aloetrade America products have been tested and validated in oil and gas industry field conditions. The aloe-derived polysaccharides, anthraquinones, and other active compounds in our formulations have well-documented electrochemical and molecular properties that underpin their inhibition, friction reduction, and antimicrobial performance.
It is important to understand that “green” does not mean lower performance. Our products are selected and optimized based on the same performance criteria as any oilfield chemical: inhibition efficiency (%), minimum inhibitor concentration (MIC), compatibility with produced fluids, thermal and pressure stability, and long-term field effectiveness. Many field operations already use our products as primary treatments — not merely as supplements to conventional chemicals.
We provide technical data sheets and application guidance for each product, and our technical team can assist with pilot testing programs to validate performance under the specific conditions of each client’s operation.
All Aloetrade America products are formulated from renewable, biodegradable raw materials. They contain no toxic heavy metals, no harmful synthetic polymers, and no persistent organic pollutants. The aloe vera and other plant extracts at the core of our formulations are among the most well-characterized natural compounds in terms of biodegradation kinetics and ecotoxicology.
From an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standpoint, adopting our green oilfield chemicals contributes to several measurable sustainability indicators: reduction in hazardous chemical inventory, lower risk of environmental liability from spills or produced water discharge, improved alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and documented progress on Scope 3 emissions reduction and responsible chemicals management for corporate sustainability reporting.
We can provide environmental and safety data for each product to support clients’ regulatory filings, procurement sustainability assessments, and ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, or the IPIECA Oil and Gas Industry Guidance on Voluntary Sustainability Reporting.
We offer a dedicated set of green fracking fluid additives designed to replace or supplement conventional synthetic chemicals in hydraulic fracturing programs:
Aloefricred™ / Aloefricred Plus™ — plant-based friction reducers for slickwater frac fluids, reducing treating pressures and pump wear.
Aloegel™ — a natural gelling agent made from cactus mucilage, yucca extracts, and aloe vera compounds, used to thicken fracturing water and suspend proppant in conventional gel frac or hybrid frac designs.
Aloecide™ / Aloecide Plus™ — biocide supplements to control bacterial contamination in frac water sources and prevent reservoir souring.
Aloecurefrac™ — a specialized formulation for the prevention and remediation of drilling fluid and fracture fluid losses into the formation, based on aloe polysaccharides and aloe-based cellulose for effective lost circulation control.
Flocgreen™ — a natural flocculant for treatment of frac flowback water and produced water ahead of disposal or reuse.
Together these products allow unconventional operators to build greener frac fluid programs that reduce regulatory risk and support water stewardship commitments.
Aloeflow HV™ is our green flow improver for heavy and extra-heavy crude oils. It is a 99.5% natural product derived from long-chain polysaccharides, enzymes, amino acids, and anthraquinones obtained from aloe plants — with molecular weight, viscosity behavior, and thermal stability comparable to high-molecular-weight synthetic polymers used in flow assurance.
When injected into a heavy crude pipeline, Aloeflow HV™ modifies the rheological properties of the oil, reducing its apparent viscosity and lowering pour point, which translates to reduced pump energy consumption, lower pipeline operating pressure, and the ability to transport heavier crudes over longer distances or through smaller-diameter pipe without heating or dilution with lighter products.
Because it is plant-derived and biodegradable, Aloeflow HV™ eliminates the ecotoxicological concerns associated with synthetic ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers and other conventional pour point depressants and flow improvers — a critical consideration for pipelines traversing ecologically sensitive regions.
Yes. We offer two complementary green products for environmental remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils and drilling mud management:
Surfactaloe Green™ is a natural biosurfactant derived from aloe polysaccharides and saponins. Biosurfactants mobilize hydrocarbons trapped in soil pores by reducing interfacial tension between oil and water phases, making the contaminants more accessible to natural microbial degradation. It is effective for bioremediation of soils and sediments affected by oil spills, pipeline leaks, tank farm discharges, and for the treatment of hydrocarbon-contaminated drilling muds.
Remedialoe Green™ is a specialized soil bioremediation formulation combining aloe polysaccharides, enzymes, amino acids, and targeted bacteria strains, designed to accelerate in-situ biological breakdown of residual hydrocarbons in contaminated soils. It is particularly well suited for post-spill remediation programs where regulatory closure requires demonstrated reduction in total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) concentrations.
Both products are fully biodegradable and do not introduce secondary chemical contamination into the remediation site.
