FLOCGREEN™ is a new green and environmentally friendly aloe based product for use as flocculant in the treatment of the waste water generated by hydraulic fracturing when performed at unconventional oil and gas drilling operations.

FLOCGREEN™ is a combination of natural ingredients obtained from aloe plants. 

FLOCGREEN™ is a 99.5% natural product made from natural cactus mucilage, moringa extract and aloe vera compounds.

FLOCGREEN™ is a totally non-toxic, non-hazardous, biodegradable and environmentally friendly product for the oil and gas industry., because main component is from aloe, a natural plant cultivated in only a few countries. This is a real "green" and "eco friendly"option for the fracking industry and a new opportunity for the oil and gas industry to deliver clean water when drilling created a lot of waste.

In the unconventional oil and gas drilling operations, the use of millions of gallons of water, sand and other chemicals, creates a severe problem with the residual waste water generated by such process. 

In 2010, the United States Congress requested the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to study hydraulic fracturing in the United States. The objective of the research was to evaluate the effects of hydraulic fracturing on the water supply, specifically the water for human consumption.

The research intends to evaluate the pathway of all the water used in the hydraulic fracturing process. EPA is trying to determinate how the large volume water withdrawals from ground and surface water would impact drinking water resources, what are the possible impacts of releases of flowback and produced water on drinking water resources, and what are the possible impacts of inadequate treatment of hydraulic fracturing wastewaters on drinking water resources. 

The main five hydraulic fracturing locations chosen for this research are the Bakken Shale in North Dakota, Barnett Shale in Texas, Raton Basin in Colorado, and two Marcellus Shale locations in Pennsylvania.

The main concern is the toxicity of chemicals used in the hydraulic fracturing fluids. After the fracking job, water must be recovered, treated and recycled or disposed of, in accordance to federal and state regulations.

Our aloe based products are a simple and eco friendly solution for the treatment of frac flowback and produced water. But the FLOCGREEN™ is the appropriate solution for the waste water recovery after hydraulic fracturing jobs, because it has excellent flocculation effects.

The aloe polysaccharides passed different testing methods showing their flocculant function.

In different researches, the results indicate that aloe has excellent flocculation effects, and the removal ratio of turbidity is 99.08%, when the optimal dosage of aloe gel is used. See our blog for more details.

In conclusion, the biological treatment seems to be the most reliable method for the disposal of pollutants in many industries. Therefore, the aloe option is a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to treat the millions of gallons of waster water generated by the hydraulic fracturing job.

Application

FLOCGREEN™ is a flocculant to be used into the fluids for hydraulic fracturing operations in the fracking operations at oil and gas industry, with the objective to treat produced waste water .

Dosage

In flocculation operations, FLOCGREEN™ used in conjunction with aluminum sulfate, a dosage of 10mg / l is suggested. But this dose is variable depending on the existing heavy metals. For a correct dosage, it is suggested to review the water analysis.

In hydraulic fracturing operations, FLOCGREEN™ can be used in conjunction with other environment friendly aloe based products distributed by Aloetrade America LLC.
