ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO is a new environmentally friendly aloe based product for use as flocculant in the treatment of the waste water generated by hydraulic fracturing when performed at unconventional oil and gas drilling operations. 

ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO was developed with the objective to offer a green and environmentally friendly product for the fracking operations in the oil and gas industry.

ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO is a combination of natural ingredients obtained from aloe plants. 

ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO is basically a blend of polysaccharides, enzimes, vitamins and other compounds obtained from aloe gel, and it is used as flocculant in several industries, the oil and gas industry. among them.

ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO is a 99.5% natural product obtained from the aloe gel of aloe barbadensis miller plants.

ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO is a totally non-toxic, non-hazardous, biodegradable and environmentally friendly product for the oil and gas industry., because main component -99.8%- is from aloe, a natural plant cultivated in only a few countries. The other 0.2% of the formula are food approved preservatives. This is a real "green" and "eco friendly"option for the fracking industry and a new opportunity for the oil and gas industry to deliver clean water when drilling created a lot of waste.

Aloetrade America LLC distributes several sustainable and green products for oil, gas and petrochemical industries. All these products were developed by Aloetrade America LLC in conjunction with Aloe Eco Park SAPI de CV, a sister mexican company which grows aloe and process aloe compounds, one of the main ingredients in these product lines. The aloe obtained from all these plantations is then used to manufacture and obtain ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO.​

The product is used as Flocculant for Waste Water generated from Hydraulic Fracturing Operations in the Oil and Gas Industry

In the unconventional oil and gas drilling operations, the use of millions of gallons of water, sand and other chemicals, creates a severe problem with the residual waste water generated by such process. 

In 2010, the United States Congress requested the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to study hydraulic fracturing in the United States. The objective of the research was to evaluate the effects of hydraulic fracturing on the water supply, specifically the water for human consumption.

The research intends to evaluate the pathway of all the water used in the hydraulic fracturing process. EPA is trying to determinate how the large volume water withdrawals from ground and surface water would impact drinking water resources, what are the possible impacts of releases of flowback and produced water on drinking water resources, and what are the possible impacts of inadequate treatment of hydraulic fracturing wastewaters on drinking water resources. 

The main five hydraulic fracturing locations chosen for this research are the Bakken Shale in North Dakota, Barnett Shale in Texas, Raton Basin in Colorado, and two Marcellus Shale locations in Pennsylvania.

The main concern is the toxicity of chemicals used in the hydraulic fracturing fluids. After the fracking job, water must be recovered, treated and recycled or disposed of, in accordance to federal and state regulations.

Our aloe based products are a simple and eco friendly solution for the hydraulic fracturing job. 

But the ALOEFLOC™ 1-BIO is the appropriate solution for the waste water recovery after hydraulic fracturing jobs, because it has excellent flocculation effects.

The aloe polysaccharides passed different testing methods showing their flocculant function.

In different researches, the results indicate that aloe has excellent flocculation effects, and the removal ratio of turbidity is 99.08%, when the optimal dosage of aloe gel is used.

The influence of different factors on flocculation effect of aloe gel were studied. 

One research -Study on the Natural Macromolecular Flocculant of Aloe- demonstrated that aloe gel has an extensive applicable pH range, the removal ratio of turbidity reach up to 92% when the pH of water sample is between 3 and 11, and the flocculation effect of aloe to high turbidity sample is better than to low turbidity sample.

Compared with Fe_2(SO_4)_3, PFS and PAM, the results indicate that aloe has a good flocculation effect, with characteristics of low dosage, high sedimentation velocity of flocs, thick floes. Compounded with Fe_2(SO_4)_3, PFS and PAM separately, the results indicate that aloe compounded with Fe_2(SO_4)_3 has the best effect, the removal ratio of turbidity is 99.12%, the optimum dosage of aloe is 1.68mg/L, and that of Fe_2(SO_4)_3 is 20mg/L.

Practical application of aloe was studied preliminarily, and the waste water of the YouYi River in Nanjing University of Science and Technology was treated. The results indicate that aloe has a good effect to the turbidity removal,and COD is also decreased.

Other research -Flocculant effect of Aloe vera L. in removing pollutants from raw and treated dye industry effluent- demonstrated the good results of aloe. While the effluents from dye industry are the most polluting of all industrial effluents, the use of aloe vera remarkably reduced the TDS, COD, BOD and chloride in all effluent concentrations of both raw and treated dye industry effluent.

In conclusion, the biological treatment seems to be the most reliable method for the disposal of pollutants in many industries. Therefore, the aloe option is a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to treat the millions of gallons of waster water generated by the hydraulic fracturing job.
